Vlada is a Senior Private Client Advisor with Ord Minnett. Over his 17-year investment career he has successfully guided clients through a variety of market conditions, including the 2008 Global Financial Crisis and the 2020 Covid Crash. His professional interests and area of specialization include volatility trading, tail risk hedging, and exploiting behavioral biases in financial markets. Currently based in Ord Minnett's Hong Kong office, Vlada splits his time between Australia & Asia, servicing clients in both jurisdictions. 

The premise of active portfolio management, namely stock-picking and market timing, is essentially that with enough hard work and skill, it's easy to consistently outperform the market benchmark. When this view was challenged decades ago, it sparked a longstanding debate with strong believers on both sides and since then produced volumes of empirical evidence on the topic. Vlada will be presenting the latest research on this debate while highlighting the consequences for private investors and immediate steps they can take to improve their portfolio returns. Plenty of time will be reserved for questions and club members are encouraged to come prepared for a robust discussion.
